Industrials Turn Back Kansas City, 3-1
|
In a tight tilt between the Pittsburgh Industrials and the Kansas City Bulls, Gene Steinhauer was the deciding factor. The Pittsburgh right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Getting the save was Ray Williams, his 4th. Pittsburgh is now 20-16, while Kansas City is 18-16.
The Industrials got a big at-bat from third baseman Jim Shuman. For the game, Shuman went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Pittsburgh a 2-0 lead.
Shuman expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
