Eagles Get Hard-Earned Win
The Washington Eagles picked up a win at Monument Field, knocking off the New York Knickerbockers, 4-3. On the mound for Washington was right-hander Pat Sullivan. He played a key role in the triumph. The win puts Washington at 2-2.

The decisive blow was delivered by Alan Cassill in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 29-year old left-handed pitcher Ron Haney to win the game for Washington. The home crowd went nuts.

"Pat gave us a very blue collar effort," said Washington manager Brandon Tucker.
