The Denver Burros handed the St. Louis Explorers a 6-4 defeat at Gates Crescent Park. First Baseman Alejandro Rebolledo starred for Denver. He was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Denver reliever Frank Combs snagged the win, upping his record to 4-0. Randy Birch shouldered the loss. Manny Esparza recorded the save, his 3rd.

Denver took control in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Alex Martinez hit a run-scoring single to make it 5-4, Burros.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Rebolledo.
