Pobladores Take Down Hawks, 3-2, in 10
|
The Chicago Hawks got a superb performance from pitcher Bruce Elsner. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Los Angeles. The Pobladores won the game, 3-2. Elsner threw 9.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Los Angeles reliever Mike Lowe was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Chuck Hentschel. Earning his 1st save of the year was Steve Bittenbender.
Los Angeles used a clutch hit from Hamilton Craft to get the win. The right fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Pobladores ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This win should put a little bounce in our step," said Craft.
Chicago now is 2-2.
