Houston Drillers starter Jerry Zaruba hurled his team past the Dallas Wranglers, 6-2. The save was credited to Bill Switzer, his 2nd. The Drillers, now 3-1, have been playing some good baseball.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Randy Barnes? The Houston left fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Drillers on top, 2-1. For the game, Barnes had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
