Cleveland Downs Philadelphia, 6-2
|
Cleveland Bobcats starter Fred Harrison kept the Philadelphia Quakers hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Harrison picked up the win for Cleveland, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 4-2. After today's action, Cleveland sits at 18-17, while Philadelphia falls to 19-17.
Cleveland used the bat of Ray Gardner to get the win. The third baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Bobcats ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"Fred is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Cleveland manager Daniel Mays.
