Twin Cities turned a fine outing from starter Bob Freeland into a victory over the New York Empires at Queens Field. The final score was 2-0. Freeland, now 4-3, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing no runs. Steve Eaton was credited with the save for Twin Cities, his 2nd of the season.
Mike McGurn had a direct impact on the outcome. McGurn contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Twin Cities up, 2-0.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," McGurn said after the game.
The winning continues for Twin Cities, with the latest triumph making it 7 straight.
