Drillers Sneak By Emeralds, 3-2
|
Houston turned a good effort from starter Howie Hinman into a win over the Seattle Emeralds at Sam Houston Field. The final score was 3-2. The defeat makes Seattle 1-3.
Houston took a 3-2 lead on John Hart's 1st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Hart hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Seattle pitcher Dave Alexander visibly frustrated.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Seattle skipper Mark Velez, "and it cost us."
