Houston Earns 5-4 Win
|
The Houston Drillers cut down the Dallas Wranglers by the score of 5-4, with the largest share of the credit going to second baseman Lou Ward. Ward was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times for the Drillers. The win went to Tom McAteer in relief, making him now 1-0. Frank Dunn took the loss for Dallas. The win gives Houston a record of 2-2.
Mark Sisson, who finished 3rd in the ABL in runs with 95 in 1972, took Dallas hurler Frank Dunn deep in the bottom of the eighth. His solo home run put the Drillers on top, 5-4. In all, Sisson had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
