Chavez Slugs Hawks to 6-2 Win
The rain came, as predicted, but the Chicago Hawks and Boston Terriers were able to complete their ballgame.

The Chicago Hawks defeated the Boston Terriers, 6-2, at Atlantic Avenue Grounds. Chicago third baseman Felipe Chavez had a superb performance. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The winner was Kevin Edwards, who threw 94 pitches over 6 innings. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits.

The game turned with one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Chavez hit a grand slam home run off Tim Jepperson. It propelled the Hawks into the lead, 4-0.

Chicago manager Mike Flaherty commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."

With this game in the books, Chicago is 18-20, Boston 15-22.
