Elsner Dominates New York
|
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the New York Empires as starter Bruce Elsner shut them out, 2-0, at Queens Field. The Chicago pitcher struck out 3 and walked 2 while allowing 5 hits.
"Elsner was good but he wasn't flawless," New York manager Dan Whiting said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Chicago, but this is on us."
This year, Elsner has 3 wins and 5 losses and a 4.64 ERA.
