|
The Montreal Habitants rode a solid performance from 29-year-old starting pitcher Erv Koenig to a win, beating the Detroit Wolverines, 2-0, at Wolverine Field. The winner was Koenig. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Basil Anderson. The win puts Montreal at 2-2.
The Habitants got a big at-bat from right fielder Tim Delaney. For the game, Delaney went 1-3 with a home run. In the top of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Montreal a 1-0 lead.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Montreal manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon.
