Burros Slap 3-1 Loss on Blockbusters
|
Denver starter Fenton Flannery put a stranglehold on the Los Angeles offense. The right-hander had complete command of his changeup in leading the Burros to a 3-1 win. Flannery picked up the win for Denver, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 4-1. The save was credited to Bill Wojciehowicz, his 8th.
Had Tony Galaz not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Galaz hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Burros.
"Every loss hurts," said Los Angeles manager John Trausch. "But this was a tough one."
Denver raised its record to 22-18 with the win.
