Lott Now 5-2 After Beating Captains
The St. Louis Explorers picked up a win at Corps of Discovery Stadium, courtesy of Dick Lott. The right-hander helped his team stop the San Diego Captains, 3-0. Alex Alonso picked up the save for St. Louis, his 7th of the year. St. Louis goes to 22-18, San Diego to 20-20.

Lott, a native of Wolcott, Connecticut, was dealing all game. He kept San Diego hitters off-balance, while giving the Explorers 7.2 quality innings. Lott threw 101 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 7.

"Dick made the big pitches when he needed to," said St. Louis manager Ray Fleetwood.
