Slumping Northmen Lose 6th Straight
In a low-scoring contest between the Houston Drillers and the Twin Cities Northmen, Rick McStay, who is tied for 5th in the ABL in quality starts with 7, proved to be the difference. The Houston right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-0 Drillers win. McStay yielded no runs over 8.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 4, and struck out 3. His record improves to 4-4. Larry Bilski wrapped it up, recording his 3rd save.

Mike Wells came through with a big-time hit for Houston. The left fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 1-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Twin Cities skipper Jason Gudim.

The slumping Northmen have dropped 6 in a row.
