With 4-3 Win, Traders Go to 25-16

The Chicago Traders picked up a win at Union Field, downing the St. Louis Explorers, 4-3. On the mound for Chicago was left-hander Bobby Peters, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winner was Peters. He threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs. The loser was Jorge Gonzalez. Picking up the save was Randy Weisenberg, his 12th.
Had Dave Lindsey not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Lindsey hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Traders.
"I liked his command," said Chicago manager Larry Link. "Bobby was throwing strikes."
Chicago is now 25-16, while St. Louis is 18-23.
