Win Makes Blockbusters 21-19
|
Los Angeles picked up a win at Blockbuster Stadium, bumping off the Denver Burros, 5-3. Pitcher Ron LePiane was a major reason the Blockbusters emerged victorious. In 6 innings, LePiane surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Fred Wild sewed up the save, his 6th.
The Blockbusters got a big at-bat from second baseman Tom Adams. For the game, Adams went 1-4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Los Angeles a 2-0 lead.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said LePiane.
The victory gives Los Angeles a record of 21-19.
