Mark Morris left his imprint on the 8-6 Chicago win against the Dallas Wranglers. Morris, who finished 5th in the ABL in triples with 11 in 1970, was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Angel Villatoro snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 2 innings. He's now 5-1 on the season. Chicago, at 19-22, occupies 6th place in the American Baseball League Western Division.

With Chicago trailing 6-4 in the top of the ninth, Morris hit a fastball from Frank Dunn for a grand slam home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Hawks ahead, 8-6.

"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Morris. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
