New York Empires pitcher Jack Neenan was in top form, leading his team past the Toronto Hurons, 2-1. Neenan, now 6-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Jack Pratt earned his 6th save, after closing out the game.
Jerry Olsen had a direct impact on the outcome. Olsen contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put New York up, 2-1.
"Jack gets on the mound and he competes and that's what you want," said New York manager Dan Whiting.
The Empires improved to a lofty 28-12.
