Behind a fine performance from Ed Hudson, the Montreal Habitants knocked off the Chicago Hawks, 7-4. Hudson was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Habitants. Al Johns closed it out for his 8th save. The 6th-place Habitants bumped their record to 17-25.

With two out in the top of the ninth, Don Hill had a game-changing hit. The Habitants first baseman slammed a 2-run single off Angel Villatoro, making the score 7-4, Montreal.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Hill told the Montreal Daily News. "It's as simple as that."
