In a low-scoring contest between the Boston Terriers and the Atlanta Generals, 27-year old right-handed pitcher Tim Jepperson proved to be the difference. The Boston right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Terriers win. Jepperson, now 2-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. Boston, with the win, is 14-27.
Boston second baseman Roberto Alvarez helped the Terriers go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Alvarez hit a run-scoring single off Atlanta pitcher Steve Papa.
"I'm happy we won," said Jepperson. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
