Captains Walk It Off for 4th Win of Season
|
San Diego second baseman Waymond Henry played a vital role in his team's 5-3 conquest of Los Angeles. He went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for San Diego. The winner was Brian Meade in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Larry Messenger took the loss. The loss puts Los Angeles at 2-3.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Henry hit a fastball from Larry Messenger for a 2-run home run. The Captains, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Henry said in his postgame press conference.
