The Montreal Habitants and Detroit Wolverines left the fans buzzing.

Detroit picked up a win at Wolverine Field, toppling the Montreal Habitants, 5-2. Pitcher Juan Rodriguez was one of the reasons the Wolverines triumphed. John Gaylord finished the game for Detroit and earned his 1st save.

With Detroit leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Rodriguez hit a 2-run single off Montreal hurler Dave Quigley. It was the 3rd hit of the season for Rodriguez and put his team ahead, 3-0.

"Juan -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Wolverines manager Alex Wobbema. "He was the key to us winning."

The win elevated the Wolverines to 27-16.
