Brooklyn Bats Quiet in 6-1 Loss
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Cincinnati Packers and Brooklyn Bluebirds.

The Cincinnati Packers picked up a win at Flatbush Park, defeating the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 6-1. Starting pitcher Damon Rutherford was an essential part of his team's success. The 4th-place Bluebirds have lost 4 straight games.

Cincinnati used a well-timed hit by Glen Bennett to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Packers ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Bennett called the win "a team effort."
