Explorers Land Close Win
The St. Louis Explorers topped the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 4-3, in 15 innings at Corps of Discovery Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of St. Louis pitcher Randy Birch. The win was credited to Ramon Sandoval in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Bob Cole took the loss. St. Louis has now won 4 games in a row.

The Explorers got a clutch hit from first baseman Bob Raab. In the bottom of the 15th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Explorers.

"Randy was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said St. Louis manager Ray Fleetwood.
