Philadelphia Upended by New York, 7-2
New York turned a good effort from starter Ray Schifsky into a win over the Philadelphia Quakers at Knickerbocker Stadium. The Knickerbockers won the game, 7-2. The Knickerbockers, now 4-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.

New York catcher Andy Covarrubio contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 3rd hit of the season and put the Knickerbockers ahead, 3-0.

Covarrubio called the win "a collective effort."
