Philadelphia Picks Up Another L
The game between Chicago and Philadelphia is in the books, despite a little rain.

The Chicago Traders topped the Philadelphia Quakers by a score of 9-2. Leading the way was center fielder Fran Precourt. Precourt went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs for the Traders. Skip Crawford, who led the NBL in ERA with 2.48 in 1970, was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 1 run on 4 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts.

Skip Crawford had a big 2-run double for the Traders in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Chicago leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from 29-year old right-handed pitcher Art Wohlt and swatted a double to right. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Traders ahead, 4-0.

"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Precourt. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
