Generals Get Hard-Earned Win
|
The Atlanta Generals sent the home crowd home ecstatic.
The Atlanta Generals rode a solid performance from 25-year-old starting pitcher Frank Combs to a win, beating the Boston Terriers, 2-1, at Atlantic Station Field. The 6th-place Generals improved to 21-22.
The decisive blow was delivered by Zach Hodge in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Ken Torkelson to win the game for Atlanta. The home crowd went nuts.
"We did just enough to win," Hodge said.
