Blockbusters Beaten By Explorers, 5-2
The St. Louis Explorers picked up a win at Blockbuster Stadium, topping the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 5-2. On the mound for St. Louis was right-hander Marty Clark. He played a principal role in the triumph. The winner was Clark. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Billy Duprey. Robbie Goolsby nailed down the save.

Chuck Panetta had a big 2-run home run for the Explorers in the top of the third inning. With St. Louis leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a curveball from Billy Duprey, the 15th overall pick in the 1964 draft, and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Explorers on top, 4-1.

"We did enough to win," said Clark.

The 5th-place Explorers have won 4 in a row.
