Blockbusters Take Down Bulls, 4-3
|
Los Angeles pitcher Ron LePiane did his part in helping his team beat the Kansas City Bulls, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Los Angeles reliever Glen Winn picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Charlie Hickman absorbed the loss. With the victory, the Blockbusters upped their record to 23-22.
Chuck Walton, who is tied for 10th in the NBL with a .452 slugging percentage, came through for Los Angeles with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth. The center fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 1 RBI.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Los Angeles manager John Trausch.
