The Milwaukee Dairymen and starting pitcher Tom Rockliffe stifled the San Diego offense en route to a comfortable 10-1 win at San Diego Sporting Complex. Rockliffe got the win, improving to 4-1. He gave up 8 hits and walked 0 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Dairymen improved their record to 22-23 by beating San Diego.

The Dairymen got a big hit from first baseman Larry Morford. Facing San Diego pitcher Brian Meade in the top of the ninth, Morford pounded a 3-run home run to left-center. His 7th home run of the season put the Dairymen ahead, 10-1.

"We didn't put our best foot forward tonight," said losing manager Joe Mack.
