Emeralds Fall Short, 2-1, at Twin Cities
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Twin Cities Northmen and the Seattle Emeralds, pitcher Gary Forgette was the difference between victory and defeat. The Twin Cities right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Northmen win. The 5th-place Northmen improved to 20-25.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Northmen had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when left fielder Greg Clement hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Dave Gilson and made the score 2-0, Northmen. Clement went 1 for 3 with a walk.
"Gary pitched like a son-of-a-gun," said Twin Cities manager Jason Gudim.
