The Dallas Wranglers got a marvelous performance from pitcher Barry Gilmore. The right-hander kept the Los Angeles offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-0 Dallas victory at Bluff Park. Frank Dunn, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save. The second-place Wranglers have won 7 straight.

Dallas center fielder Wayne Penrod contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 29th hit of the season and put the Wranglers ahead, 2-0.

"When you put in the effort and you get really focused, the results come in ways you're not even expecting," said Wranglers manager William Albrecht.
