Chicago Topples Seattle, 6-2
|
Chicago Hawks starter Bruce Elsner kept the Seattle Emeralds hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Chicago has now won 4 games in a row.
The Hawks got an important contribution from third baseman Tom Greenlee, who in the bottom of the first punched a first pitch fastball into left for a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Hawks ahead, 4-0.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Greenlee told the Chicago Herald.
