Houston got a strong outing from Danny Prentice as the Drillers defeated the San Francisco Seagulls, 4-2, at Sam Houston Field. In 6 innings, Prentice surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. The victory gives the Drillers a record of 26-21.
Making an impact for the home team was Jackie Frost. In the bottom of the sixth, the 22-year old center fielder had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 4-2, Drillers.
