Leavitt Dominant in Milwaukee Win
|
The Milwaukee Dairymen got a magnificent performance from pitcher Lou Leavitt, who muffled the Philadelphia offense en route to a tight 2-1 Dairymen win at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium. The save went to Mike Coyle, number 7 for him. The victory gives Milwaukee a record of 25-22.
Leavitt tossed 114 pitches over 8.2 innings to clinch the win for the Dairymen. The right-hander allowed just 3 hits, while racking up 8 strikeouts in the game.
Leavitt said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
