The New York Empires defeated the Twin Cities Northmen, 8-4. Doing his part was shortstop Dave Matuzak, who went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. The winning continues for New York, with the latest triumph making it 10 straight.
Matuzak contributed in the bottom of the second. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single. It was one at-bat among others that helped New York get the win.
"Nice win for us," said Matuzak. "Now we'll go after the next one."
