Getting a good performance from second baseman Ed Cook, the Washington Eagles defeated the Cincinnati Packers, 7-6. Cook was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Eagles. Dave Alexander earned the win. John Stoddard took the loss for Cincinnati. With the win, the Eagles sit at 24-23.

With Washington leading 3-1 in the top of the fourth, Cook hit a fastball from John Stoddard for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Eagles ahead, 5-1.

"We got the victory," said Cook. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
