Detroit Wolverines starter Scott Litwak pitched his team past the New York Empires in 11 innings, 3-1. The win puts Detroit at 25-23 this season.
Brian Cook had a direct impact on the outcome. Cook contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put Detroit up, 2-1.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Cook.
