Eagles Win, Cassill goes 4-for-5

With left fielder Alan Cassill leading the charge, the Washington Eagles defeated the Denver Burros, 7-1, at Gates Crescent Park. Cassill, who is tied for 6th in the NBL in triples with 3, went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Richie Kingery notched his 6th save of the season. Washington occupies 6th place in the National Baseball League Eastern Division at 20-27.
Denver had runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the sixth. With two out, Jimmy Benson stood at the plate, hoping to find a gap. Instead, he grounded out. The score remained 2-1, Washington. The Burros never could mount a comeback.
