Eagles Win at Home, 6-4
|
The Washington Eagles had to overcome a big game from Brooklyn left fielder Greg Landrum to leave Monument Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 6-4. Landrum was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Ramon Juarez, the winner, is now 7-2. He struck out 2 and walked 1 over 7.1 innings, while allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. Richie Kingery, who is tied for 3rd in the NBL in saves with 9, earned the save for Washington.
In the bottom of the fifth, Washington right fielder Mike Lockhart had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and no one out, Lockhart stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 5-2, Washington. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Washington manager Juan Placeholder.
The losing streak for Brooklyn has now reached 4 games.
