Dairymen Edge Past Eagles, 4-3
The 1977 season began for the Washington Eagles with a loss to the Milwaukee Dairymen at Monument Field. The final score was 4-3. Milwaukee catcher Charlie Fee had a fine performance.

Cliff Bragg, who finished 5th in the NBL in doubles with 31 in 1967, had a direct impact on the outcome. Bragg contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Milwaukee up, 4-3.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Bragg told the Milwaukee Gazette.
