Seagulls Bang Out 6-2 Win Versus Houston
|
San Francisco pitcher Jerry Patrick had a large part in his team subduing the Houston Drillers, 6-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. With the win, San Francisco has a record of 27-24. Houston falls to 33-19.
San Francisco second baseman John Cobb contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 51st hit of the season and put the Seagulls ahead, 2-0.
"Jerry pitched like a champ," said San Francisco manager Al Borie.
