The Cleveland Bobcats racked up a win at Lakefront Stadium, bumping off the Washington Eagles, 3-2. Scott Dubyak, who started for Cleveland, pitched effectively for his team. The Bobcats lead the National Baseball League Eastern Division by 2 games.

Cleveland took a 3-2 lead on Don Pelletier's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Pelletier hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Washington pitcher Richie Kingery visibly frustrated.

"Tough loss," said Washington manager Brandon Tucker. "But that's how the cookie crumbles."
