In a low-scoring affair between the Twin Cities Northmen and the Dallas Wranglers, pitcher Bob Freeland was the difference between victory and defeat. The Twin Cities left-hander earned kudos in the 2-1 Northmen win. In 7 innings, Freeland surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Rick Lindstrom notched his 2nd save of the season.
Twin Cities used a timely hit from John Kinney to get the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Northmen ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"I executed the game plan," said Freeland.
The 4th-place Northmen lifted their record to 27-25.
