Los Angeles Defeated by Chicago, 6-4
|
The Chicago Traders licked the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 6-4. Tim Rathbone deserved a big chunk of the credit. The left fielder went 3 for 3 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times for the Traders. Skip Crawford got the win, improving to 8-3. He worked 8 innings, giving up 4 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. The loss makes Los Angeles 27-24.
Rafael Fuentes hit a run-scoring double off Jon Hampton in the bottom of the first, which put the Traders in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Fuentes had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Traders manager Larry Link.
