Explorers Absorb 9-3 Home Loss
The Milwaukee Dairymen powered past the St. Louis Explorers, 9-3, at Corps of Discovery Stadium. Larry Morford provided some of the pop. He went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Danny Guerra was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was 32-year old right-handed pitcher Bruce Shone. By defeating St. Louis, the last-place Dairymen improved to 22-31.

Reggie Bryce, who finished 5th in the NBL in hits with 190 in 1973, helped out the Milwaukee cause in the top of the third inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the second baseman was 1 for 4 with a walk.

"We were able to put some runs on the board," said Bryce after the game.
