The home crowd had a good time watching the Montreal Habitants and Atlanta Generals get after it.
Atlanta right-hander Ron Nightingale pitched his team to victory over the Montreal Habitants at Atlantic Station Field. The final score was 5-3. Nightingale picked up the win for Atlanta, going 8 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 11 hits. He now sports a record of 3-4. Steve Gregg was called on to finish, recording his 7th save.
With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Bernie Wishert had a game-changing hit. The Generals third baseman slammed a 2-run single off Steve Locke, making the score 5-1, Atlanta.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Nightingale told the Atlanta Citizen.
