Explorers Deal Dairymen 4-3 Loss
The St. Louis Explorers beat the Milwaukee Dairymen, 4-3, at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium. Tommy Pickett, who is tied for 10th in the NBL in doubles with 12, starred for St. Louis. He went 4-5 with a triple, 3 singles, and a walk. St. Louis reliever Tony LaDuke was the winner. His record is now 2-2. The losing pitcher was Pete Costabile. St. Louis now has a record of 27-27 with the win.

St. Louis used the timely hitting of Gary Parker to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Explorers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Pickett attributed the win to his team's "hyper resolve."
