Cleveland Bobcats starter Myron Baird pitched his team past the Washington Eagles in 10 innings, 3-2. Steve Eaton, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The Bobcats raised their record to 5-1.

The decisive blow was delivered by Bill Harper in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 30-year old left-handed pitcher Miguel Jimenez to win the game for Cleveland. The home crowd went nuts.

Cleveland manager Daniel Mays called it "a good, solid win."
