Industrials Suffer One-Run Loss at New York
|
Behind a solid performance from pitcher Chris Hull, the New York Knickerbockers defeated the Pittsburgh Industrials, 3-2. Hull threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball for the Knickerbockers. New York is 28-26 and Pittsburgh, with the loss, 27-27.
Pedro Villamil helped out the New York cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the shortstop went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
Hull told a New York Observer reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
