Hurons Popped by Terriers, 8-3
|
The Boston Terriers picked up a win at Atlantic Avenue Grounds, dropping the Toronto Hurons, 8-3. Nate Edwards, who is tied for 9th in the ABL with a 2.23 ERA, was the difference-maker. The last-place Terriers bumped their record to 21-33.
Vince Marshall had a big run-scoring double for the Terriers in the bottom of the third inning. With Boston leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 25-year old left-handed pitcher Tom DeGagne and swatted a double to center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Terriers ahead, 2-0.
"Ah, the sweet taste of victory," Marshall crowed after the game.
